Below is a quick look at some of my meaningful life experiences so far…
Business Experiences
Work experiences take up a huge chunk of our daily lives and I’m lucky enough to have some pretty interesting ones. They consist of LOTS of traveling (North Carolina / Georgia / California / New York / Hong Kong), meeting amazing people, while honing my skills and getting the job at hand done.
Teaching Experiences
I will never forget my experiences teaching web design. They provided me with the foundation for how to create effective training material, understanding others learning styles, and allowed me to make a difference while meeting some pretty amazing people along the way. 🙂
Community Experiences
I’m a strong believer in being active in the community so these experiences I hold dear. Listed and shown in some of the pictures below are some community experiences I’ve been involved in.
- Habitat for Humanity – Volunteered alongside my local PMI chapter to lay flooring and install cabinets to prepare a house for a family in need.
- Food Bank of Eastern & Central NC – Participated in a Cisco give back event sorting eggs at the Raleigh Food Bank where we were able to sort 3,065 eggs, pack 21,600 eggs (which equals 1,800 dozen eggs) which in total provided 2,554 meals to NC citizens.
- Tiny Houses Greensboro – Helped build tiny houses in Greensboro to support those experiencing homelessness.
- Triangle United Way Teaming for Technology – Refurbished computers for donation to local nonprofits.
- Chavis Heights Fall Tech Festival – Offered technology support for participants at the Fall Tech Festival.
- NC Connected at the T4T La Familia Tech Event – Demonstrated for families how to use their new computers.
- Avalon Community Development Center – Provided academic tutoring to students from immigrant and refugee communities.
- Meals on Wheels of Wake County – Delivered weekly meals and provided human interaction to elderly and home-bound clients.
- American Red Cross – Volunteered at the shelter set up to temporarily house hurricane Katrina victims. Worked in the computer lab helping those victims search for displaced family members.
- NC Connected CyberCafe at SNCC’s 50th Anniversary Conference – Ran the CyberCafe at SNCC’s 50th Anniversary Conference and got the opportunity to meet some very influential people.
